Industrial thermal energy waste Information to use is electrolyzer

The electrolyzer developed under the X-SEED project operates at temperatures exceeding 374ºC. To achieve optimal hydrogen production efficiency, the management of thermal energy is of critical importance. In this regard, the integration of an external heat source, specifically utilizing residual thermal energy from industrial processes, is of substantial relevance. The residual thermal energy must meet the following criteria: A temperature exceeding 400ºC; a stable and consistent thermal waste flow, without significant fluctuations; accessibility to the thermal waste source for integration purposes; an annual residual energy output of 200 MWh to 1,000 MWh.

If your industrial process generates thermal energy that satisfies these conditions, the X-SEED project will evaluate the feasibility and possible benefits of integrating the supercritical electrolyzer. Additionally, and without this study is a binding agreement, the site may be considered for further scaling up and development projects.
